About us
Martin and David Kern
The idea to develop the KernSoundboard stems from carrying out music pedagogy work with children and young persons and through experience gained from working with adults playing music. The musical instrument’s manner and shape was developed in 2003 by the music teacher Martin Kern. The KernSoundboard building blocks are made of high-quality beech wood and the instrument is 100% handmade in Bavaria/Germany!

As a passionate musician, composer and qualified social education worker, Martin Kern has been making music with children, adults and senior citizens for over 35 years. Children’s eagerness to learn music has motivated him especially to work on new musical ideas and undertakings. This is how he had the idea to enable people to experience and learn an easy instrument as soon as possible, and to have fun with music and to develop a sense of adventure.
